The North Cheshire Wind Orchestra

The North Cheshire Wind Orchestra (NCWO) is a friendly and dynamic community wind orchestra with around 30 members. We’re based in Warrington and rehearse on a Friday evening from 7.30 – 10pm.

We currently have a number of vacancies for percussionists, clarinets, euphonium and string bass.

We enjoy playing a wide range of music with a focus on music for modern wind orchestra. The NCWO operates a commissioning scheme and over the years we have commissioned numerous works for wind orchestra. Our most recent composition was Latchford Locks, composed for the NCWO by the renowned British composer, Gary Carpenter. Latchford Locks was premiered by the NCWO on Saturday 2nd June 2018.

The NCWO would like to thank Gary Carpenter for composing Latchford Locks for us; and Bridget Smith, the Smith family, Tracy Woods and all who have contributed to the commissioning fund.

We are looking currently in the process of finalising our 2018 – 2019 concert season. Further details will be posted shortly.
