North Cheshire Wind Orchestra Commissions
Jonah (Emily Howard, 2004)
Emily was commissioned to write a piece for choir and band for our Christmas concert on Friday 10th December 2004.
A recent student of Adam Gorb - whose music has been extensively performed by the NCWO - Emily is now studying for a PhD at Manchester University with John Casken.
The work was intended to be suitable for performance by young choirs and we hope very much it will find a place in the repertoire as a slightly more substantial contribution to all those joint Christmas concerts.
The first performance was given by the NCWO with Pyramid Voices and Archbishop Blanch School Chamber Choir.
