Prayer (Emily Howard, 2010)
Prayer, composed in Autumn 2010, is a short 6 minute work for wind orchestra that was commissioned by the North Cheshire Wind Orchestra through its commissioning fund
Prayer is a slow moving work in three distinct sections, separated by silences. At times still and peaceful, and at times violent, the musical material in Prayer is explored and developed to create dramatic changes in character, always with an intensity that I associate with prayer and deep thought.
