The North Cheshire Wind Orchestra (formerly known as the North Cheshire Concert Band) is a symphonic wind orchestra based in Warrington in Cheshire who perform regularly at the town’s Pyramid and Parr Hall. The orchestra play a wide range of music including standard repertoire by composers including Gershwin, Bernstein, Holst and Strauss, more unusual and modern works, and new compositions commissioned by the ensemble. The NCWO has twice performed at the prestigious International Wind Festival at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and achieved Gold Awards at the National Concert Band Festival in the 2004 & 2005 National finals.

Orchestra Programme to include: Etienne-Nicolas Mehul - Overture in F The music in this programme explores our love affair with Paris, through the eyes of George Gershwin who visited the capital in 1928 and more recently in a tribute to the city by contemporary British composer Martin Ellerby. Milhaud’s Suite Francais embodies the essence of provincial France and incorporates French folk tunes while Saint-Saens Occident et Orient testifies to the French fascination with the world beyond Europe.
